unimpressed

Have you ever admired someone only to get disappointed once you get a closer look? Well, I just had once of those moments today.

I stumbled upon an acquaintance's blog today. I knew that person from way back in college and well, let's just say this person is certainly not a saint. One thing this person does have is a passion for writing and (let person = Person) Person is pretty good at it. Or so I thought.

Back then, we heard really good things about Person's writing abilities. He used a ton of fancy words and was up-to-date on the latest slang. I admired Person, though I did not like Person's personality.

So today, I read person's blog.It looked like he had a thesaurus handy while writing and opted to use obscure words at every chance Person got. I bet Person still thinks Person is awesome. After all, Person likes to refer to Person in the third person.

I can totally relate..I have this classmate too. She uses words that I(we) can't almost comprehend 'coz their super lalom, pastilan, ang iyang buhaton she will look in the dictionary the meaning of that simple word para malahi, but ang ubang words baya, bisan the same meaning, different baya ang usage..pero mao to Miss Oons..utro baya kong pataka ug gamit, but at least I'm humble with my mistakes..kuno.. :-)

I think some people have difficulty posting in conversational, natural tones. Everything comes off as an essay, big words that tend to keep the reader from connecting.

I stumbled across your blog the other day and found the writing voice that expresses your views to be very personable.
